NIACC's Seifert earns ICCAC player of week honor
- Seifert wins award for 2nd straight week
- Trojans return to action Wednesday at Iowa Central
MASON CITY - For the second straight week, NIACC's Ciara Seifert has been selected as the ICCAC women's basketball player of the week for the week of Jan. 5-11.
Seifert has won the award three times this season. She was last week's winner (Dec. 22, 2025-Jan. 4, 2026) and also won the award for the week of Nov. 17-23, 2025.
Seifert shared the award with Northeast CC freshman Lexi Wiebelhaus.
Seifert, who is from Rochester, Minn., is the first NIACC women's basketball player to win the award back-to-back weeks since all-American Mandy Willems won the award in consecutive weeks in the 2018-19 season (Feb. 25-March 3 and March 4-10).
Seifert recorded two double/doubles in two home wins by the Trojans last week. Seifert, who has eight double/doubles this season, scored 16 points with 11 rebounds in a 62-58 win over No. 20 DMACC and scored 16 points with 11 rebounds in a 85-50 win over Southwestern CC.
Seifert, who averages 11.1 points per game, is shooting 56.3 percent from the field, which leads the ICCAC. Seifert also ranks second in the league in rebounds per game (11.0).
No. 14 NIACC (14-2 overall, 8-2 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC contest against Iowa Central (13-4, 6-3) in Fort Dodge. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
